Just saying.. :) |
 | Another weekend is upon us..Enjoy it, Leonard!

|
 | Enjoy your weekend, too! :) |
 | Oh, Leonard! I was so busy having new knees I missed your birthday, and another friends. Being born on Valentines day, what is the secret to that? Well, sounds like it was a good one and many more! |
 | No Landrieu was One of the US senators... Kathleen Blanco was the governor... sigh.
Ray Nagin ... what has not been said about him???? Cheers to new beginnings.
:-))))
|
 | What a wonderful prayer, dear Demitra. ;-) Thank you very much. LMAO! You are precious. AMEN! |
 | That is certainly a raison d'etre for exultation by any Nahlins native! ;-) Although the prevalence of marshy soil and the lack of bedrock are endemic to potholes everywhere, New Orleans certainly had more than it's fair share.
Wasn't Ms Landrieu the governor when Katrina hit? Let us hope Mitch does a better job than Ray Nagin.
Sounds like a perfect day, weather-wise, for celebrating the holiday! Congratulations on having a GREAT DAY! ;-) |
 | Yesterday was wonderful...
The weather was perfect. A little chilly in the morning but it warmed up to the upper 40's and glorious hot sun really helped.
Yes it is hot here and strangely enough, I like it. But I swim every day in the summer too!
Do you remember Moon Landrieu? Well his daughter is our US Senator and now his son Mitch has just been elected mayor. There is construction on many streets! Can you imagine, they are fixing the streets!

 | Just for YOU dear friend..

|
 | Gee Cyn, I really don't know. ;-) I was born in Nahlins and raised in Covington and people have been calling me a coonass my entire life after they find out where I'm from. ;-) Although I know a lot of Cajuns and have hung out with them whenever I'm in Loseyanna, genetically, I'm not one.
BTW, did you have a good time yesterday? Did it rain? Last time i was in Covington was in '89 for a high school reunion. It was in June and and the temperature was 98F and the humidity was 98%! I thought, OMG, how did I survive when I lived here?! ;-) Never really thought much about it when I was a kid, but I did spend a lot of time swimming in the Bogue Falaya River during the summers! You just become acclimated to wherever you live, I suppose. ;-) Hope you had a great day. |
 | Ah, I liked that group!
Is there a difference from a coonass and a cajun? Been trying to figure that out. |
 | Nope, I doubt it. Maybe if there was a Twitter version! ;-) ..but, then, how would the designee collect their kiss? Hmmm |
 | No I did not know Steven Stills was from Covington! Spin the bottle! I wonder if kids do that anymore! |
 | Noooo, say it ain't so! K&B are no more? :-( When I was a kid whoever got the baby had to give the next party. Did you know that Stephen Stills was from Covington? I played 'spin the bottle' with his older sister, Hannah. ;-) Gee, I wonder what she is doing these days? |
 | Well How nice to meet a fellow New Orleanian!
When I was younger, I took all things New Orleans for granted! LOL Now I would never live anywhere else. So I just started going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans proper a couple of years. I took my kids to Metairie. But I hated it! LOL
At work, every Friday, the person that got the baby had to buy the King Cake... that was the extent of the parties....
I like Haydel's cake because it is not so sweet. Did you know that Mc Kensies went out of business after Katrina? and K & B went out of business years ago? |
